Ray Lamontagne Minneapolis Concert reviews
Great Venue
We were looking forward to seeing this artist. The lighting choices by the artist obscured the musicians faces. The artist seemed very soft-spoken and when he talked to the crowd, we could barely hear him even though we were on the main floor. The music sounded amazing. I have seen several shows at the Fillmore, and this is the first show where there was ever an issue with not hearing the artist when they spoke and where the lighting was off. Looking at pictures on the artists socials makes me think that this was an artist choice nothing to do with the venue.
Awesome concert!
The Anthem was a great venue. Convenient and ample restrooms and concession stands. Acoustics were fantastic and Ray LaMontagne sounded crystal clear. He was a little soft-spoken esp. when he was telling stories, but most of the noise was from the crowd. I would do it again in a heartbeat. We never did figure out if it’s better to take an Uber or drive. We drove and the parking was a nightmare - even in the lots! Next time we’re going to leave at 3 and go down because there’s so much to do there. It would be worth getting the head start.
Most underrated artist of our generation
Another incredible performance by Ray LaMontagne. The set list was perfection and his voice was stellar as well. The band was top-notch and my eyes were welling up with tears nearly the entire show. I was blown away.
I am not sure why people care if if 'interacts' with the audience. Why does this bother so many people? He is giving you all of his energy and giving you an incredible output of energy and talent - why do you need a "whats up boston!!!!!"??? Let him remain a mystery. Simply enjoy the music.
Only complaint is that of the venue (must be that it's relatively new venue) - they NEED TO STOP LETTING PEOPLE IN AND OUT OF THE DOORS! SO LOUD AND DISRUPTIVE.
Keep on keepin' on Ray!
